our next home

I am so blessed to have such a cute little house, in a safe little neighborhood. Sammy bought it before we were even engaged... When I moved in Sammy was not living there and I attempted to make it my own.
5 years later, and the lack of our "being home" it has kind of just become a pit stop for us. A place to sleep, shower, etc that is a mix of both of us. Sometimes, it doesn't feel like ours.

Our goal in 2015 (besides our Euro-Trip) is to find a new home. One that is slightly bigger for eventual kids, and one that we found together. I am not at all complaining. I know how lucky I am to have a roof over my head that doesn't cost a lot of money.

Here is my list of what I'm looking for in a new home:

1. It must have a fireplace working fireplace...With this cute DIY screen

2. Some carpet. I'd rather vacuum than sweep & mop any day.
3. A bathtub. I have never been the bath-taking type, but I find myself missing it on the rare occasion that I might shave my legs.
4. This cute Jack Daniels soap dispenser.
The first bit of alcohol I ever loved.

5. Something lofty looking. I have always wanted to live in a loft, but if we want kids, I know it's unrealistic.

6. A covered porch. When it rains, my mail gets soaking wet.
7. A super dark bedroom, with a super huge bed.

I know there is more, but at the moment, I couldn't ask for anything more.

Pizza Wife

Six years ago (in 2007), before he was my husband, Sammy embarked on an adventure that has turned out to be part of our life's purpose. He was the backer. He had the money. We would participate, but not "run" the restaurant. Fast-forward to 2011, Sammy is working 90 hours a week, I'm still teaching for income, and we never see each other. Fast-forward to 2013...Sammy tells me to quit teaching (Hallelujah!), he is working 70 hours, and we get to see each other more. It can only go up from here.

A night out on Greenville for Miyan's birthday. Playing in the restaurant before it was opened. Look at how little Sammy is!

Me and Jason (obviously having way too much fun) opening night. October 5, 2007.

And now. Sammy's success makes me so proud of him. I've never seen someone work so hard for something they never expected to work for. My husband is amazing. And that is why he deserves this Super Bowl Commercial.

My Brother

I was blessed with two incredible older sisters and no brothers...until 1994. My aunt had a son. Not just any son. A handsome, loving, hilarious, kind, tall, smart, creative, fun, athletic, talented, amazing son. He is not my cousin. He is my brother. Not in like a weird incestuous dad got with aunt kind of thing... Just in a "he's more like a brother than a cousin" type of thing. Different genes, different some of the same blood running through our veins. Same love that brothers and sisters have. Maybe even a better relationship than brothers and sisters have.

He is graduating from high school and moving to San Marcos for college. I'm afraid I took him living down the street for 18 years for granted. I'm going to miss watching him play baseball, and getting called on the weekends for rides, and hugging his skinny ass at least once a week.

I love you Campbell Ray!

Team Coco fo Life

I'm actually crossing things off of My Bucket List! One of my bffs got married in September in beautiful Palm Springs.
Hubs & I went ahead and made it a vaycay and spent a lot of time in LA. I absolutely LOVED it there. Sammy says he has never seen me happier.

And, oh yeah, the best part...We met went to a taping of Conan!

I remember being in the 4th grade and turning my TV down, setting the sleep timer, and hiding the fact that I was watching late night television from my parents.

Yes, Conan O'Brien was one of my first loves, and now, I have seen him (from a distance) in person.

Remember Paul

Pastor Geiger is back in action (temporarily) as our church searches for a new Pastor. He is doing a Spring/Summer Series on Philippians. In a sermon a few weeks ago (4/22) that I missed so I listened to online, he preaches about having an attitude of joy. Paul was a missionary, traveling from place to place spreading the Good News about our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ. He was arrested & ridiculed for years...But he kept his attitude of joy.

He knew that wherever he was, it was because God wanted him there. My goal this summer, is to be more like Paul...and to possibly memorize the entire book of Philippians. Wish me luck...

My Father's Daughter

Text message conversations with my dad are always hilarious. I think posting them is a must...an idea that my "cousin" Lindsay has had for years...and has BEGGED me to do. Here you go Linds:

Dad: O my gosh-mom & i watched Bruno last nt.
Me: Hahahaha. That movie is so screwed up! I love it!!
Dad: U r sick-so happy there's another me.

In all seriousness, it was a great compliment. If I'm half as awesome as my pops- I'll be alright
